Federal Work Study Student Assistants

The Textile Makerspace is looking for student assistants with federal work-study eligibility, to work 3-10 hours/week, primarily in afternoons and evenings. The Textile Makerspace in Pigott Hall (260-238/108) is home to several sewing machines, a serger, coverstitch, embroidery machine, and multiple knitting machines. We also have supplies for knitting, crochet, hand embroidery, and needle felting, as well as multiple looms. Students assistants supervise the Textile Makerspace during its open hours, and support the users of the space when they have questions about the machines. Occasionally, student assistants also run workshops. Student assistants are expected to have some prior experience with basic sewing, and ideally at least one other method (e.g. advanced sewing, crochet or knitting, needle felting, etc.) There are opportunities to learn additional methods on the job. To apply, please send a brief paragraph about yourself and your experience with textile making to Textile Makerspace Director Quinn Dombrowski at qad@stanford.edu. Please double-check that you have federal work-study eligibility before applying.
